Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy

How Ripple handles ownership, licenses, and intellectual-property complaints.

OperatorRipple is operated by an individual developer and service operator. Formal notices may be sent to kisschou@gmail.com.
Content covered in Ripple

This policy covers profile and photo-wall media, Moments, chat attachments, voice and video content, stickers, gifts, game artwork, usernames and any other material displayed through Ripple. Users retain ownership of content they create, but grant Ripple the limited license described below so the Service can store, resize, transcode, scan, deliver, display and moderate that content according to the chosen visibility settings.

Only upload material you created or are authorized to use. To report infringement, email kisschou@gmail.com with the affected Ripple URL, Ripple ID or content identifier; a description of the protected work; your contact details; the required good-faith and accuracy statements; and your physical or electronic signature. Ripple may remove or restrict material while a complete notice or counter-notice is reviewed and may terminate repeat infringers.

1. Purpose

This Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy explains how intellectual property rights are handled in connection with the Service.

The Platform respects the intellectual property rights of Users, Creators, copyright owners, trademark owners, and other rights holders.

Users must not use the Service to upload, publish, transmit, distribute, reproduce, sell, or otherwise exploit content or materials that infringe another person's intellectual property rights.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to intellectual property associated with or used through the Service, including:

photographs;

videos;

audio recordings;

voice recordings;

written content;

messages;

profile descriptions;

usernames;

avatars;

artwork;

graphics;

logos;

trademarks;

software;

music;

livestream or recorded content;

Creator Content;

promotional materials; and

other protected works or materials.

3. Intellectual Property Owned by the Platform

Unless otherwise stated, the Platform and its licensors own or control the intellectual property rights associated with the Service, including, where applicable:

software;

source code;

object code;

application interfaces;

website design;

visual design;

graphics;

logos;

trademarks;

service names;

databases;

platform architecture;

original text;

original audiovisual materials;

documentation;

functionality;

user-interface elements; and

other materials created or licensed for the Service.

Nothing in this Policy transfers ownership of Platform intellectual property to a User.

4. Platform Trademarks

The Platform's names, logos, marks, product names, domain names, and other identifying materials may constitute trademarks or other protected intellectual property.

Users must not use Platform trademarks in a manner that:

falsely suggests endorsement;

falsely suggests affiliation;

creates confusion;

damages the Platform's reputation; or

violates applicable law.

Unauthorized use may result in removal of the relevant content or other appropriate action.

5. User Ownership of Content

Subject to the rights granted under this Policy and the Terms of Service, Users generally retain ownership of intellectual property rights they own in content they create and upload to the Service.

Examples may include:

original photographs;

original videos;

original written content;

original artwork;

original audio recordings; and

other original works.

Uploading content does not automatically transfer ownership of that content to the Platform.

6. User Responsibility for Uploaded Content

Before uploading content, Users must ensure that they have the necessary rights, permissions, licenses, consents, and legal authority to use and share that content through the Service.

Users must not upload content that they do not have the right to use.

This includes content obtained from:

another person;

another website;

social-media platforms;

commercial databases;

stock-media services;

copyrighted publications;

music services;

video platforms; or

other third-party sources.

7. License Granted to the Platform

By uploading, submitting, posting, transmitting, or otherwise making content available through the Service, the User grants the Platform a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable license, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, format, technically modify, display, transmit, distribute, and otherwise use the content as reasonably necessary to:

operate the Service;

provide the requested features;

display content to intended recipients;

enable communication;

provide matching and discovery functionality;

provide Creator features;

moderate and secure the Service;

detect fraud and abuse;

maintain backups;

improve service functionality;

troubleshoot technical issues;

comply with legal obligations; and

enforce the Platform's policies.

This license is limited to purposes connected with operating, providing, securing, and improving the Service and does not transfer ownership of the User's underlying intellectual property.

8. User Content and Matching Features

Where User Content is used for matching, discovery, recommendations, or other social features, the Platform may process and display such content as reasonably necessary to provide those features.

For example, profile photographs and profile descriptions may be displayed to other Users according to the User's account settings and the Service's functionality.

9. Private Communications

Content transmitted through private communications may be processed, stored, transmitted, or displayed as necessary to provide the communication service and maintain security.

Private status does not grant a User permission to upload or distribute another person's copyrighted or confidential material.

The Platform may process relevant information where necessary for:

safety;

fraud prevention;

abuse prevention;

legal compliance;

technical operation; or

enforcement of the Terms and policies.

Such processing remains subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

10. Creator Content

Creators remain responsible for ensuring that Creator Content complies with applicable intellectual property laws.

A Creator must have the necessary rights to:

publish photographs;

upload videos;

use music;

use artwork;

display trademarks;

use third-party recordings;

perform copyrighted works; and

otherwise distribute content through the Service.

The Platform may request evidence of rights or authorization where reasonably necessary.

11. Music and Audio

Users and Creators must not upload or distribute copyrighted music, recordings, performances, or other audio materials unless they have the necessary rights or a legally applicable exception.

The purchase of a music subscription or access to a music platform does not necessarily grant a User the right to redistribute that music through the Service.

12. Photographs and Videos

Users must not upload photographs or videos belonging to another person unless they have appropriate rights or permission.

Users should also consider privacy and publicity rights when uploading images that identify other individuals.

The Platform may remove content where there is a credible complaint concerning:

copyright;

privacy;

publicity rights;

unauthorized commercial use; or

other applicable rights.

13. AI-Generated Content

Where the Service permits AI-assisted or AI-generated content, Users remain responsible for ensuring that such content does not unlawfully infringe third-party rights.

Users should not use AI tools to:

impersonate another person unlawfully;

reproduce protected works without appropriate rights;

remove copyright-management information;

create fraudulent endorsements;

misuse another person's likeness; or

otherwise violate applicable intellectual property rights.

14. Copyright Infringement

Users must not use the Service to:

reproduce copyrighted works without authorization;

distribute unauthorized copies;

upload pirated material;

provide unauthorized access to copyrighted works;

sell or license content they do not own;

remove copyright notices;

circumvent digital rights-management protections;

falsely claim ownership of another person's work; or

knowingly facilitate copyright infringement.

15. Trademark Infringement

Users must not use third-party trademarks in a manner that unlawfully:

confuses consumers;

suggests false sponsorship;

suggests false affiliation;

impersonates a business;

promotes fraudulent activity; or

otherwise infringes applicable trademark rights.

Legitimate references to brands, products, or services are not necessarily prohibited.

16. Rights of Publicity and Personality Rights

Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights relating to their:

name;

image;

likeness;

voice;

identity; or

other aspects of personal identity.

Users must not use another person's identity or likeness for unlawful commercial, fraudulent, defamatory, or deceptive purposes.

17. Moral Rights

Where applicable law grants moral rights or similar rights that cannot be transferred or waived, the Platform will handle such rights in accordance with applicable law.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to eliminate rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Copyright Complaints

A copyright owner or authorized representative who believes that content available through the Service infringes their copyright may submit a copyright complaint.

A complaint should contain sufficient information to allow the Platform to identify:

the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;

the allegedly infringing material;

the location of the material within the Service;

the complainant's contact information;

a statement explaining the complainant's rights or authority;

a good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or applicable law; and

a statement that the information provided is accurate.

Where required by applicable law, the complainant may also be required to provide an appropriate declaration or electronic signature.

19. Copyright Complaint Contact

Copyright complaints should be submitted to:

Copyright Contact: kisschou@gmail.com

Legal Contact: kisschou@gmail.com

Operator: Individual developer and operator of Ripple

Formal notices: kisschou@gmail.com

The Platform may establish additional procedures for specific jurisdictions.

20. Review of Copyright Complaints

After receiving a sufficiently detailed complaint, the Platform may review the reported material.

Depending on the circumstances, the Platform may:

remove the reported material;

restrict access to the material;

temporarily disable the material;

contact the User who uploaded it;

request additional information;

request proof of ownership or authorization;

preserve relevant records; or

take other action permitted or required by applicable law.

The Platform does not guarantee that every complaint will result in removal.

21. Counter-Notification

Where applicable law provides a counter-notification process, a User whose content has been removed or restricted may submit a counter-notification.

A counter-notification should generally explain:

the content that was removed;

where the content appeared;

why the User believes the removal was incorrect;

the User's contact information; and

any other information required by applicable law.

The Platform may provide the counter-notification to the complaining rights holder where legally permitted or required.

22. Restoration of Content

Where applicable law requires or permits restoration of content following a valid counter-notification or resolution of a dispute, the Platform may restore the content.

The Platform may retain restrictions where:

another legal basis requires removal;

the content violates another Service policy;

the content creates a safety risk;

the User does not have the necessary rights; or

applicable law permits continued restriction.

23. Repeat Infringers

The Platform may take appropriate action against Users who repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights.

Depending on the circumstances, action may include:

warnings;

content removal;

temporary restrictions;

loss of upload privileges;

account suspension; or

account termination.

The Platform may consider the frequency, seriousness, circumstances, and available evidence when determining appropriate action.

24. False or Abusive Intellectual Property Claims

Users must not knowingly submit false or fraudulent intellectual property complaints.

Examples include:

falsely claiming ownership;

submitting a complaint on behalf of another person without authorization;

intentionally misrepresenting whether content is infringing;

using copyright claims to harass another User;

attempting to remove lawful criticism; or

using intellectual property procedures to gain an unrelated advantage.

The Platform may take appropriate action against abusive reporting.

25. Third-Party Content

The Service may contain content supplied by Users or other third parties.

The Platform does not necessarily endorse or control the intellectual property rights associated with third-party content.

Users should independently evaluate whether they have permission to copy, download, redistribute, or commercially exploit third-party content.

26. Downloading and Reusing User Content

The ability to view, save, screenshot, share, or otherwise access content through the Service does not automatically grant the User ownership or redistribution rights.

Users must obtain appropriate permission before commercially exploiting another person's content or otherwise using it in a manner that requires authorization.

27. Screenshots and Private Content

Users should not assume that content shared in a private communication may be freely reproduced or distributed.

Depending on the circumstances, redistribution may violate:

copyright;

privacy rights;

confidentiality;

publicity rights;

applicable law; or

Service policies.

Users should obtain appropriate permission before redistributing another person's private content.

28. Copyright and Account Termination

Account termination does not necessarily eliminate the intellectual property rights of the affected User or third parties.

Where technically and legally appropriate, the Platform may retain or remove content following termination according to:

applicable law;

legal obligations;

security requirements;

dispute-resolution requirements;

backup procedures; and

the Privacy Policy.

29. Legal Requests

The Platform may respond to valid legal requests concerning intellectual property disputes.

Such requests may include legally valid:

court orders;

subpoenas;

government requests;

law-enforcement requests; or

other legally binding procedures.

The Platform's handling of law-enforcement requests is further described in the Law Enforcement Request Policy.

30. International Intellectual Property Rights

Because the Service may be available internationally, intellectual property rights may vary by jurisdiction.

A work that is protected in one country may be treated differently in another.

The Platform may consider applicable local law when reviewing an intellectual property dispute.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to provide a uniform legal standard where applicable law requires a different procedure.

31. Fair Use and Other Legal Exceptions

Certain uses of copyrighted material may be permitted under applicable law without authorization from the copyright owner.

Examples may include, depending on the jurisdiction:

fair use;

fair dealing;

quotation;

criticism;

commentary;

parody;

education; or

other statutory exceptions.

The existence and scope of such exceptions vary by jurisdiction.

The Platform may consider applicable legal exceptions when reviewing a copyright complaint.

32. User Representations

By uploading content to the Service, the User represents, to the extent permitted by law, that:

the User owns the content or has the necessary rights to use it;

the User has obtained required permissions;

the content does not knowingly infringe another person's rights;

the User has authority to grant the applicable Platform license; and

the User's use of the content complies with applicable law.

Users remain responsible for their own content.

33. Indemnification for User Content

Where permitted by applicable law and the Terms of Service, a User may be responsible for claims arising from the User's unlawful use of third-party intellectual property or unauthorized content.

This does not apply where such responsibility cannot legally be imposed.

34. Platform Content Removal

The Platform may remove or restrict content where reasonably necessary to:

comply with law;

respond to a valid rights-holder complaint;

prevent infringement;

protect Users;

protect the Platform;

investigate fraud or abuse;

comply with court or government orders; or

enforce the Terms and other policies.

The Platform may remove content even where a dispute has not yet been finally resolved by a court.

35. Preservation of Evidence

Where reasonably necessary and legally permitted, the Platform may preserve information relating to an intellectual property dispute.

Such information may include:

the reported content;

upload information;

account information;

relevant timestamps;

complaint records;

communications relating to the complaint;

moderation records; and

other information relevant to the dispute.

Retention is subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy.

36. No Transfer of Ownership to the Platform

Except where expressly agreed otherwise, the User retains ownership of intellectual property rights in User Content.

The license granted to the Platform is intended to enable the Platform to operate and provide the Service and does not constitute a general assignment of ownership.

37. Creator Intellectual Property

Creators may retain ownership of original content they create, subject to:

the Creator Agreement;

the applicable Platform license;

applicable intellectual property law;

contractual arrangements with third parties; and

any separate commercial agreement.

Creators are responsible for obtaining appropriate rights for commercial use of third-party materials.

38. Commercial Use

Users and Creators must not use the Platform's intellectual property or another person's content for commercial purposes unless they have the necessary authorization.

Examples may include:

selling another person's photographs;

commercially redistributing Creator Content;

using another person's likeness in advertisements;

copying Platform branding;

selling access to Platform content; or

creating a competing service using protected Platform materials without authorization.

39. Reporting Other Intellectual Property Violations

Intellectual property concerns other than copyright may also be reported, including:

trademark infringement;

unauthorized commercial use;

impersonation;

unauthorized use of likeness;

counterfeit materials;

unauthorized brand use; or

other intellectual property violations.

Reports should include sufficient evidence to allow the Platform to understand the claim.

40. Relationship With Other Policies

This Policy should be read together with:

Terms of Service;

Privacy Policy;

Community Guidelines;

Safety and Anti-Scam Policy;

Creator Agreement;

Creator Payout Policy; and

other applicable Platform policies.

Where another policy addresses the same content or conduct, the applicable policies may operate together.

Mandatory legal rights prevail where required by law.

41. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect:

changes in applicable law;

changes to the Service;

changes in intellectual property procedures;

new technologies;

changes to content-management systems; or

improvements to rights-holder protection.

Where required by law, appropriate notice will be provided.

42. Contact Information

Users should respect the intellectual property rights of other people and organizations.

The Platform will seek to balance:

protection of copyright and other intellectual property rights;

legitimate User expression;

privacy;

Creator rights;

User rights; and

applicable legal requirements.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to remove or restrict rights that cannot legally be excluded.
