This section describes the current Ripple product. If it conflicts with a more general statement below, this Ripple-specific section controls for the current Service.
Ripple Data Practices
Ripple is an adults-only social and dating service. Depending on the features you use, we process account and login details; email address; Ripple ID; profile details such as nickname, date of birth, binary gender selection, country, region, city, language, occupation, biography and interests; profile photos and photo-wall media; Moments, likes, comments and follows; friend and block relationships; chat messages, voice messages, images, videos, gifts and call records; approximate or precise location when you enable a location feature; support tickets and reports; Coins, subscriptions, gifts, creator earnings and transaction records; device, network, security and diagnostic information; and push-notification tokens.
We use this information to authenticate accounts, complete profiles, recommend and match people, show distance and nearby users, deliver messages and calls, operate Moments and social features, process purchases and virtual items, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate content, answer support requests, comply with law and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information. The current Service does not use personal information for third-party behavioral advertising.
Ripple is operated by the individual developer identified as the seller on Ripple's applicable app-store product page. Privacy requests may be sent to kisschou@gmail.com.
Device Permissions
| Permission | Why Ripple requests it |
|---|---|
| Camera | Take a profile photo, capture chat media, record video and participate in video calls. |
| Photos / media library | Select, upload, save or share profile, Moment, photo-wall and chat media. |
| Microphone | Record voice messages and provide audio or video calls. |
| Location | Show nearby people, calculate approximate distance and send a chosen location. Ripple does not use location for continuous background tracking in the current release. |
| Notifications | Deliver messages, friend requests, calls, account events, social interactions, game events and service notices. |
You may change permissions in your device settings. A feature may not work when its required permission is disabled.
Service Providers
Ripple uses service providers only as needed to operate the Service. These currently include Tencent Cloud Object Storage (COS) and related delivery services for user-uploaded images, video, voice and other media; ZEGOCLOUD for real-time audio and video communications; Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and, where enabled, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for device notifications; Apple and Google for platform sign-in, in-app purchases and subscriptions; and hosting, database, security and monitoring providers used to run Ripple's server infrastructure.
A provider may process device identifiers, IP address, service tokens, transaction identifiers, call metadata or content strictly as needed for its function. Provider processing is also governed by that provider's terms and privacy notices. International transfers may occur because Ripple is global and these providers operate infrastructure in multiple regions.
Messages and Moderation
Messages and media may be stored and processed for delivery, synchronization, abuse prevention, safety review, user reports and enforcement. Content may be reviewed automatically or by authorized reviewers when platform moderation is enabled, when content is reported, when fraud or safety signals are detected, or when law requires it. Do not assume that Ripple messages are end-to-end encrypted unless the relevant feature expressly states that they are.
Notification previews are enabled by default and may include the sender and message preview. You may disable preview content or notifications in Ripple or your device settings. Ripple keeps device push tokens only while needed to reach the signed-in account and invalidates or replaces them after logout, device change, deletion or provider feedback where technically available.
Retention Schedule
| Category | Normal retention |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | While the account is active, then removed when account deletion is executed, subject to the exceptions below. |
| Temporary stranger conversations | Normally 30 days. The configured period may change and a conversation may be retained longer if the users become friends, if a user keeps it through an available feature, or if safety or legal preservation is required. |
| Friend conversations and media | Retained while needed to provide message history, until deleted under an available feature or until account deletion is executed, subject to safety and legal holds. |
| Precise or approximate location | The latest data needed for nearby and distance features is updated or replaced as the feature is used. Security records containing location signals may be kept for the applicable security-log period. |
| Push tokens | Until logout, token replacement or invalidation, account deletion, or when the token is no longer needed. |
| Support tickets, reports and moderation records | For the time reasonably needed to resolve the matter, handle appeals, prevent repeat abuse and satisfy legal obligations. |
| Purchase, refund, chargeback, payout, tax and accounting records | For the period required by the applicable app store, payment provider, tax, accounting, anti-fraud and other laws. |
| Backups and technical logs | For limited rolling operational and security periods, then overwritten or de-identified unless preservation is required. |
Retention may be extended for an unresolved dispute, report, investigation, legal hold, fraud prevention, child-safety obligation or other mandatory legal requirement. Where exact periods are controlled by law or a provider, Ripple uses the applicable required period.
Account Deletion
You may request account deletion in Ripple or by following the public instructions at https://rippleim.com/legal/account-deletion.html. Ripple normally applies a seven-day cooling-off period, or the period displayed when you submit the request. The account is hidden and restricted during that period. If deletion completes, profile, social and product data is removed or de-identified except records that Ripple must retain for transactions, payouts, fraud prevention, safety, disputes, legal compliance and proof that the request was completed.
