People you meet through Meet, Nearby, Online Match, Drift Bottle, Moments or chat may not be who they claim to be. A match, verification mark, distance, online status, popularity value or affection score is not a safety guarantee. Never send money outside Ripple, disclose a password or one-time code, install software for another user, share financial credentials, or participate in an investment, cryptocurrency or “emergency” transfer suggested by someone you met here.
Ripple staff and the in-app AI assistant will not ask for your password, verification code, remote device access or payment to unlock support. For an immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services first. Otherwise, preserve relevant messages, stop contact, block the account and report it in Ripple. Gift and Coin purchases are only valid through the purchase flow shown inside the Service.

a business crisis;
a blocked bank account;
a frozen cryptocurrency account;
an inheritance problem;

A genuine relationship or friendship does not by itself constitute prohibited conduct.
The Platform may consider the overall circumstances and available evidence when reviewing suspected financial exploitation.
8. Pressure, Manipulation, and Coercion
Users must not pressure another person into making a payment or continuing an interaction.
Prohibited conduct includes:
threats of self-harm used to obtain money;

The Platform will not ordinarily ask Users to provide:
passwords;
account recovery codes;
authentication codes;
private keys;
wallet seed phrases;

The Platform does not require Users to disclose private wallet credentials through ordinary social interactions.
Users should independently verify wallet addresses and transaction details before sending digital assets.
14. Off-Platform Communication
Users may choose to communicate through other services, subject to applicable Service rules.
However, moving a conversation off the Platform does not remove the User's responsibility to avoid fraud, harassment, financial exploitation, or other unlawful conduct.
The Platform may take action where off-platform conduct is directly connected to:
fraud originating through the Service;
threats against another User;
exploitation of Platform features;
unauthorized use of Platform data;

requests to pay someone else's debt; or
requests to use another person's payment account.
The presence of one warning sign does not by itself prove that a person is engaging in fraud.
16. Gifts and Virtual Coins
Virtual Gifts are designed as digital social features.
Users must not:
pressure another User into purchasing Coins;
falsely promise a financial return for sending Gifts;
demand Gifts through threats;

threaten another User;
expose private information;

threaten to publish intimate material;
demand money to prevent publication of intimate material;

Users must not:
misrepresent the age of another person;
solicit sexual content from a minor;
engage in sexual communication with a minor;
exploit a minor;
facilitate trafficking or exploitation of minors; or
upload, request, distribute, or facilitate child sexual abuse material.
Where the Platform identifies credible evidence of child sexual exploitation or abuse, it may take immediate protective action and make reports to appropriate authorities where required by law.

The Service must not be used to facilitate:

other sensitive material
in order to obtain money, Coins, Gifts, sexual activity, access, or other benefits.
26. False Identity and Misrepresentation

However, Users must not use false identity information for:
fraud;

The Platform may use automated technologies to assist with:
spam detection;
scam detection;
fraud detection;
malicious-link detection;
account security;
content moderation;
abuse detection;

Depending on the circumstances, the Platform may take one or more actions, including:
warning a User;
removing content;
restricting messaging;
restricting calls;
restricting discovery;
restricting Gifts;
restricting purchases;
temporarily suspending an account;
permanently terminating an account;
reversing fraudulent transactions;
withholding or adjusting Creator Earnings;
requiring additional verification; or
referring matters to appropriate authorities.
The action taken will depend on the nature, severity, and available evidence relating to the activity.
35. Account Verification
The Platform may require additional verification where reasonably necessary for:
account security;
age verification;
Creator eligibility;
payment risk;
fraud prevention;
legal compliance;

financial solicitation;
investment promises;

The Platform may apply enhanced safeguards where there are indications that a User may be particularly vulnerable to:
financial exploitation;
coercion;
harassment;
manipulation;
fraud;
abuse; or
other serious harm.
Any such action will be taken subject to applicable law and the Platform's privacy obligations.

The Platform may disclose information where legally required, including in response to valid legal process.
42. Privacy and Safety Investigations
Safety investigations may involve the processing of personal information.
Such processing is governed by the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
The Platform seeks to balance:
User safety;
fraud prevention;
legal obligations;
privacy;
security;
freedom of communication; and
fair treatment of Users.
43. False Reports
Users must not knowingly submit false or malicious reports against another person for the purpose of:
harassment;
retaliation;
obtaining an unfair account restriction;
interfering with another User's account;
damaging a Creator's reputation; or
manipulating the Service.
A good-faith report will not be treated as a violation merely because an investigation does not substantiate the allegation.

Where an account or feature is restricted based on a safety decision, the affected User may have access to an appeal or review process where provided by the Service or required by applicable law.
An appeal may include:
an explanation of the relevant circumstances;

information reasonably necessary to review the decision.
The Platform may maintain certain safety restrictions while an appeal is being reviewed where necessary to protect Users or the integrity of the Service.

Where another policy provides more specific rules for a particular issue, those rules may also apply.
46. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect:
new fraud patterns;
changes to the Service;
new security technologies;
legal or regulatory requirements;
payment risks;
changes in online safety practices; or
improvements to User protection.
Where required by law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes.

48. Final Principle
The Service is designed to facilitate genuine social interaction.
No User is required to send money, Coins, Gifts, cryptocurrency, financial information, passwords, or other valuable assets to another User in order to maintain access to the Service or continue a personal relationship.
Users should remain cautious when another person asks for money, promises guaranteed financial returns, claims that funds are locked, or pressures them to make an urgent payment.
The Platform will continue to develop technical, operational, and human safeguards designed to reduce fraud and protect the integrity of the Service.
